Deforestation is damaging the earth forests by cutting down trees. Each year tropical forests are cut down in large scales. If the forests are cut down at this rate and is not limited the world’s rain forests will destroyed within 100 years. Deforestation leads to global warming and climate change and it also affects a majority of birds and animals that live in the rain forests. Animals and birds lose their natural habitat.
Forests are cut down for many reasons, but most of them are related to money or to people’s need to provide for their families. Agriculture is the main cause of deforestation. To make paper, timber is used, and for timber companies demands the logging of trees from the forests. For logging, companies are using heavy machinery to remove and cut trees and to build roads. Therefore many other canopy trees are damaged. A study in Indonesia fount that if 3% of trees were cut, logging operation damages the 49 % trees in the forest. Legal logging need to be tightly monitored to ensure it is done in a sustainable and environmentally friendly way.however Illegal logging must be stopped.
And also for heating people are used to burn wood in fireplaces although electric heaters are common nowadays. In some countries a huge mass of trees are cut down to produce wood. In addition to this, forests are cut down in order to create land for the grazing of cattle.
Deforestation is increasing day by day. For Urban and Construction purposes timber is used in a large scale. For the production of timber companies involves clear cutting. And also for the construction of houses timber is used widely around the world. Deficient environmental laws are some of the factors that allow deforestation to occur on a large scale.
In poor developing countries government allows people to log down trees to raise money for projects. Logging companies make huge profit from making timber, furniture’s, and by producing paper. Later they sell these items into developing countries. In poor countries, farmers cut more trees. For example, in Brazil forests were razed by farmers.
Forest fire can can damage forest , naturally this can occur or human activities .The need of land for agriculture, industrial and living purposes is an ever-increasing pressure on wild areas and forests and a major contributor to deforestation.
